CANDLE CARE

Let’s talk candle care!  Did you know there’s a proper way to burn a candle? Follow the below tips to maximize the longevity of your burn!

FIRST BURN
When burning your candle for the first time, allow the candle to develop a wax pool covering the entire surface of the candle. This means the top of your candles should be melted from edge to edge of the vessel before extinguishing the flame. Believe it or not, candles have “burn memory” and this allows your candle to burn evenly through its entire life.

TRIM THAT WICK!
Before lighting your candle, trim your wick to the recommended 1/4”. Fingers, scissors, and wick trimmers all work! This also helps to avoid burnt wick pieces and soot tarnishing your candle’s appearance.

BURN CYCLE
Burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. This protects the longevity of your candle.

SAFE BURNING PRACTICES
Burn candles and wax melts in an open space away from other objects to avoid fires.

FLAME MANAGEMENT
Watch your flame. It doesn’t hurt to check on your candle occasionally just to make sure everything is A-OK.

HOW DO I PUT OUT MY FLAME?
We do not recommend blowing out your candle as this can be very dangerous. Using the lid or a tool called a candle snuffer is a much safer way to extinguish your flame!

KNOW WHEN TO LET IT GO!
Discard your candles when 1/4” wax is left in the jar.
