PRODUCT FAQS

At Eight Eighteen Home Scents we use clean, quality ingredients in our products while also being as sustainable as we can!

Q: What type of wax do you use and why?
A: We use 100% soy wax for our candles and wax melts. Soy wax is a natural wax that does not emit toxins & chemicals as it burns. No more headaches from burning candles!

Q: What type of wicks do you use in your candle products?
A: We use 100% cotton wicks that are metal-free and coated in vegetable oil.

Q: What do you use to scent your products?
A: Our fragrances are a mix of essential oils and fragrance oils that are non-toxic, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and carcinogen-free.

Q: Why do your candles smell so good?
A: We use the maximum fragrance load for soy wax. What does that mean? We load our candles with as much fragrance as possible as we prefer a stronger scent experience. Our candles have a great cold & hot throw!

Q: What is the difference between cold and hot throw?
A: Cold throw refers to how a candle smells before it is lit. Hot throw refers to how a candle smells while it is lit.

Q: What makes Eight Eighteen Home Scents sustainable?
A: A lot! Labels on candles and waxmelt containers are easily removable so candle vessels & lids can be repurposed and re-used. Waxmelt containers can be recycled. 90% of packaging and shipping materials are recyclable!

Q: My candle looks funky. Is this normal?
A: Yes! When using 100% natural wax, there will sometimes be frosting, crystallization, and irregularities in the wax that occur over time. Seeing any of these is a sign that your candle maker is using 100% natural wax! At Eight Eighteen Home Scents, we work tirelessly to ensure every candle is perfect, but let’s be real – who wants to be perfect!

Q: Are the room sprays non-toxic as well?
A: Yes! Our room sprays ingredients consist of distilled water, 100% witch hazel (containing 14% alcohol), and the same safe fragrance oils used in our candles & waxmelts.
